2. Plain English
SAY IT CLEARLY
Use this service to communicate clearly to your readers
I offer a plain-English editing service that translates jargon and complex information into clear and concise language for the general reader. The plain-English movement recommends that public information is presented clearly so that your target readership and anyone your information reachers can understand you. Without compromising originality and voice, I ensure that your text is easily understood. The service is geared toward government bodies, public authorities, banks and other organisations that do not want to unintentionally confuse or mislead the public. Independent clients are also encouraged to make their content clear and transparent.
"Good writing is rewriting"
– Truman Capote –
3. proofreading
REMOVE ERRORS
Use this service to keep readers focused on your text instead of becoming distracted by errors in the text
Assuming your text is at proof stage, this service checks the basic mechanics (spelling, grammar, capitalisation, punctuation, etc.) of its content. It also reviews the work of the copyeditor and designer/typesetter for any overlooked problems with conflicting points and visual presentation (typeface, spacing, etc.) respectively. The overall aim of the service is to optimise accuracy before going to print. It eliminates the need for reprinting and ensures that your cost of production remains at a minimum.
